Diese mobile Anwendung bietet die Grundfunktionen des Radroutenplaners, der unter der Adresse: http://www.radroutenplaner.nrw.de erreichbar ist, erweitert um die Möglichkeiten der Positionsbestimmung.
So kann man beispielsweise bei der Angabe des Startpunktes den momentanen Standort wählen.
Bei der Ansicht der Karte oder dem Luftbild mit der berechneten Route besteht die Möglichkeit, die aktuelle Position einzublenden und die Karte bei der Fahrt mitwandern zu lassen.Die App bietet auch eine Navigation (Routenführung) auf der berechneten Route.
Diese Navigation erfolgt optisch mit Richtungspfeilen und Fahranweisungen und zusätzlich über eine Sprachansage.
Darüber hinaus werden Informationen zur Fahrt wie die aktuelle Geschwindigkeit, die verbleibende Zeit und verbleibende Entfernung bis zum Ziel, angezeigt.Die App kommuniziert mit den Servern des Radroutenplaners.
Es werden bei Bedarf Daten sowie Karten / Luftbilder vom Server geladen.
